Wayne Ramsey Premo - new Colorado state commissioner - his Ramsey family line
In May of 2013, Wayne Ramsey Premo assumed the role of Colorado state commissioner for Clan Ramsay. Although he has lived in Colorado since 1973, he was born in Virginia and grew up in Maryland. His Ramsey line descends from a William Ramsey (Ramsay) who bought land in Lincoln Co., NC, in the 1770s. His Ramsey descendants owned portions of that land for at least 200 years, many fought in the Civil War, and many of their descendants still live in the Lincolnton area. There is much evidence that would suggest that this William Ramsey was a son of Thomas and Mary Darrah Johnston Ramsay of Nockamixon, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. If so, he was born 1732 in PA and died in Lincoln County, NC between 1816 and 1828.
